Trip To Bratislava
I am going to Bratislava In slovakia to get a glimpse of what it is like.

After my trip to Australia I wanted to see more of Europe. So I have decided to go to Slovakia to visit Bratislava. I wanted to visit Bratislava because of the architecture in this area. I love the way the buildings are set up in this area, it's a very homelike feeling.
The first place I am visiting in Bratislava is Bratislava Castle. This castle has four towers on it, one on each corner. This area has been inhabited for thousands of years, going far back as 3500 B.C. The castle was used to make settlements in Europe. The castle was destroyed in the late 18th century in warfare but rebuilt in the 1950's to serve as a tourist attraction. The restoration was interrupted by issues within the country, and was not totally finished. Last year (2008) they started a massive restoration of Bratislava Castle and say it will take 5 years and could cost up to 62 million Euros.
The next place in Bratislava I want to visit is Old Town, Bratislava. This town is where most of the medieval architecture is located like old cathedrals and other beautiful buildings. The main place I wanted to see was St. Martin's Cathedral. Although this is just a cathedral and may not seem special in anyway, it is. Underneath the cathedral is a old cemetery that was used in Bratislava. Down in the underground catacombs they have graves of many famous slovakians like St. Stephen and other people of great importance. Now the cathedral is in danger of being destroyed as it has deteriorated and might fall from the vibration of the close by highway ramp. Another interesting fact is that reportedly Beethoven played his song Missa Solemnis for the first time in St. Martin's Cathedral. The next place I will be visiting is Berlin in Germany.
